Getting Advice

reviews-150x150A guy I know was passionately creating a training website. What he was teaching isn’t important. He would create part of the site and then ask all his friends for opinions. He would then make changes and ask all his friends what they thought and made more changes. He created a squeeze page and asked more advice. This went on for some time. Then he was back asking how much he should charge and got several optinions. Then he launched the site and it bombed. Here’s why.Out of all the people he was asking, how many were internet entrepreneurs? Judging by the replies he was getting I’m going to say none. So my question is, what value were their opinions, not matter how well intentioned? I’d say worthless, at least when it comes to internet marketing. He would have been better off posting a comment on a facebook page for web marketing or on a forum where experts hang out. Instead he spent weeks wasting time and money on something that was going to fail miserably. I have about three people I ask when it comes to online marketing. I have one person I ask about healthy eating and maybe three about what I should be doing with my life. This is because they are all where I want to be. Have fun.
