Thank God It’s Friday
Why do so many people spend five day of the week looking forward to one day? They can’t be looking forward to Monday because tomorrow is the dreaded Monday.
This means that we spend 6/7th of our lives miserable and only 1/7th happy but then of course in the back of our minds we know it won’t last?
After reading ever personal development book on the marketing and going through 40 years of ups and downs myself I realise that the key is to find happiness in the present moment. If there is no joy to be found then can we at least find peace?
The ‘thank god it’s Friday’ mentality is part of the 9-530 Monday to Friday rat race grind. I lived it for long enough to know that I never want to go back there again.
What’s my point? I don’t have one really, I just wanted to get you thinking.

That is the thing about working for yourself; there is no Friday to look forward. I mean, I work seven days a week, so there is no ‘last day before the weekend’.
I am a nine-to- fiver and I am just trying to stay positive. Sometimes it gets redundant, so looking forward to the end of the week is the only way to make it through.
I agree with you Sinclaire. Some days, I have a countdown to five o’clock. I can’t wait until retirement.
When I realized that I was unhappy for most of the week, I decided it was time to switch jobs. I don’t think it is worth it if you really can’t stand where you are working. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever really be happy in a job, but I think that I am getting closer to finding something to be proud of and to look forward to doing.
I agree with Sinclaire and Richard. Sometimes knowing that there is an end in sight gives me the strength to push through the week. I think it is a shame that I feel that way about the place I spend most of my time.
